What We Believe
Here at RBC, we are also part of REVIVE , an interdenominational network of Church leaders across the town and district and also of the Rugby Churches Forum.
We believe in One God in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is God's inspired word and that people become Christians through trusting in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who was uniquely both God and human.

Although baptism is the normal entry into Baptist Church membership, we welcome people from other denominations who have already made a public profession of their faith in another way.
We believe in the 'Priesthood of all believers'. The Baptist denomination ordains ministers, women and men, but its conviction is that every believer has direct access to God through Jesus and has gifts that can be used.
Whilst ministers and deacons are involved in running the Church, the final authority lies with the regular Church Meeting, including the appointment of our ministers. We believe God's mind is best discovered and tested by the whole Church.
All of this is expressed in the Baptist Union's Declaration of Principle, which we accept:
- That our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, is the sole and absolute authority in all matters pertaining to faith and practice, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and that each Church has liberty, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to interpret and administer His laws.
- That Christian Baptism is the immersion in water into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, of those who have professed repentance towards God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ who 'died for our sins according to the Scriptures; was buried, and rose again the third day'.
- That it is the duty of every disciple to bear personal witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to take part in the evangelisation of the world.
