Friday 27th April 2012
After an eventful journey I finally made it safely to Albania and many happy reunions!
Last Friday I was in school to prepare work for my first week and to see my timetable for weeks 2-6. On Saturday we went out to a new out-of-town shopping centre - we all commented that apart from the language it could have been anywhere in Europe. It was such a blessing to go to church on Sunday and see the new pastor and his wife -both of whom I know from earlier times in Tirana.
I have just finished my first week teaching Grade 2 (Yr 3). It went really well and we even managed to get through most of the work which Jill had left for the class. From next Monday I will have a full time-table helping a variety of students; it will mean wearing a number of 'hats' (up to 7 a day!) but I'm sure it will all work out in the end! Next Weds is a 'spirit' day at school where we raise money to help other people. More about that next week.
Please join me in giving thanks to God for safe journeying and for settling in so quickly. Also pray that I will be given wisdom and the right words to say to the new students with whom I will be working.
The Way of Hope Baptist Church in Tirana sends Christian greetings to all at RBC in the name of our one Lord, Jesus Christ.
