Mat began his ministry at Rugby over the summer of 2021. In addition to his position as Associate Minister, Mat is also a student at Regent's Park College, Oxford, where he is training for his full ministerial accreditation with the Baptist Union.

Prior to this Mat was in children and family ministries for Sutton-in-the-Elms and Kirby Muxloe Baptist churches.

Mat made the decision to follow Jesus at age 8 during Stoneleigh bible week in response to the testimony of one of his friends. (God works through all ages!) His hobbies are collecting and painting miniatures, cycling, trail running and reading. Mat's favourite bible verse is Galatians 5:1.
